WhiStle Radio is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the airing of news, views, spoken-word entertainment and music that is of interest to people living in or near the municipality of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
WhiStle Radio will provide the opportunity for any individual or group located in our listening area to create high quality, entertaining, informative and innovative local radio programming.
Although law and CRTC policy cover matters of fairness and balance, WhiStle Radio wishes to expressly state our commitment to fairness and balance of viewpoints.
WhiStle Radio will feature a wide range of programming including:
- All styles of music with a commitment to 50% Canadian music
- Guaranteed airplay for local artists who meet community standards
- Concerts by local performers
- News and information of interest to the local community including weather, community announcements and interviews on issues of local concern including, but not limited to, art, culture, heritage, sport, hobbies, natural resources, environment, agriculture, faith and politics. Coverage of local council meetings and other community meetings of interest
- Programs created by local community groups
- Emergency information such as road closings, school bus cancellations and severe weather warnings
- Programs and advertising policies that support local commerce
